S. S. Coulter
Meet the person behind Planet Fassa.

S. S. Coulter is an author, joy coach, creator of Planet Fassa, and a big believer that life is better with a little more imagination, connection, laughter, and fun.
Long before Planet Fassa, S. S. Coulter worked as a communications consultant and wellness advocate, creating campaigns that helped people make healthier choices and positive changes in their lives.
She never expected that work to eventually lead her to children's books, imaginary worlds, furry characters, family adventures, and a whole lot of playing. But the idea underneath it all turned out to be remarkably similar:
Make the better choice the easier choice.
Today, that's what she does for families — creating stories, adventures, and practical tools that make imagination, play, movement, connection, service, and joy easier to fit into everyday life.
How Planet Fassa Began
It started with four little words: “Go out and play.”
Not long after becoming a stepmom, S. S. Coulter sent her beloved stepkids outside to play.
Five minutes later, they were back.
They didn't know what to do.
That wasn't exactly the childhood she remembered.
So she started asking why.
What she discovered was a childhood that was changing. Kids had more technology competing for their attention, more structured activities filling their days, more pressure — and less time and practice simply figuring out how to play.
So she decided to do something about it.
She left Corporate America and began creating stories and activities designed to give kids more reasons to imagine, play, explore, move, laugh, and connect — while making it easier for parents to make those things happen.
That idea became Planet Fassa.
It began with the Fassa Tails, seven connected story-and-activity books filled with imagination, adventure, humor, real-life lessons, and things for kids to actually do. Alongside the books came the original Fassa Play Finder — simple ideas S. S. Coulter could use with her own family to make playing, talking, exploring, creating, and spending time together easier.
Planet Fassa wasn't created as an answer to a trend.
It was created for her own family.
Why Now?
A lot has changed since S. S. Coulter first told her kids to go outside and play.
Technology has become an even bigger part of childhood. But she doesn't believe the answer is another lecture about screen time — or another reason for parents to feel guilty.
Families need better alternatives.
And that's why Planet Fassa is back — only this time, the whole world is coming with it.
The seven Fassa Tails are the foundation. The Play Finder puts 100s of ideas for real-world fun at parents' fingertips. And the Fassa Field Kits, an Explorer Series, brings all seven stories together in one big seven-month adventure.
It's the bigger version of the idea that started all those years ago:
Give kids room to imagine. Give families more reasons to play, laugh, move, explore, help others, and connect. And make all of it a little easier for parents to actually do.
S. S. Coulter isn't interested in making technology the enemy.
She'd rather make real life a better offer.
More imagination. More connection. More adventure. More joy.
And a whole lot more fun.
